LASIK

LASIK treatment improves vision by permanently changing the shape of the cornea, the clear covering at the front of the eye, with a laser. It is the most commonly performed type of laser procedure and an effective treatment for a wide range of vision problems.

Within the last decade LASIK laser vision correction has emerged as a safe and effective means of correcting near-sightedness, far-sightedness, and astigmatism. It has been accepted worldwide as a valid permanent alternative to glasses or contact lenses and over two million people undergo the procedure each year with very satisfying results.

VISX laser systems have been used to perform millions of laser vision correction procedures in the U.S. and around the world. VISX LASIK treatment is both effective and affordable and in fact, the one-time procedure can be healthier for the eyes than decades of uncomfortable contact lens use.

Suitable candidates must:
  • be at least 18 years of age
  • have had stable vision for at least one year
  • have no corneal diseases or other eye diseases
  • not be pregnant or breast feeding
